Wigan Athletic 1 Sunderland 0

Al with his match programme.
Beating the opposition!!
Tucking into those world famous Poole's pies.
Wigan's first ever premiership win against Sunderland. My son David is also a season ticket holder and we go together. we were joined yesterday by Al, the son of my strange wife's cousin. It was his first ever visit to a football ground. What a way to start!!

Took the first at Nell's before a night out in downtown Banbury. The second...a few days later. I keep this lot in my living room. a solid kilowatt of music and this is only a small part of what you would find in here if you dared to look.

My estranged wife...or should that be my strange wife. A spot of red eye but still looking pretty good for an old bird

Wigan Athletic V Chelsea (Are you watching Rodney Marsh?)

View all 7 photos...
Been watching Wigan for 20 years and still cannot believe those southern jessies from Chelsea (Are you West Ham in disguise?)
beat us 1-0 after we made them look ordinary. They claimed they played badly. Only because we made them look that way. The Crespo goal was superb, but on our performance we could make Europe this season. There is no doubt we will stay up.

We do need some new songs though. "You are my sunshine" and "Lets hang on" really don't cut it. we need a Wigan equivalent of "You'll never walk alone."

That would be the equivalent of an extra man on the pitch.

Come on you Latics

Spent an amazing weekend with Nell at Cropredy. If you've never been its in rural Oxfordshire (and if you have it still is) every August, Thursday through Saturday and is the best place for old hippies like me and 20,000 others. Reminds me of the way festivals were in the 70's before they got mega commercial (sponsorship and the like) and before Glastonbury disappeared up its own backside
